A Center of Excellence

The Metabolic Medicine and Surgery Institute at Florida Hospital Celebration Health has been designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence due to our proven success in weight loss through obesity surgery and weight loss surgery.
The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) identifies and recognizes surgeons and facilities that provide superior bariatric surgery patient care and optimal levels of performance with the Center of Excellence designation through an independent, nonprofit organization, the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
SRC is governed by industry stakeholders and dedicated to advancing the safety, efficacy, and efficiency of bariatric and metabolic surgical care worldwide.
The SRC has developed two initiatives to achieve its goals:
- COE Programs: The Global Standard for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgical Care Best-in-class bariatric surgery center of excellence programs designed to ensure that the safest, highest quality care is delivered to bariatric surgery patients across the globe.
- BOLD: World-Class Data for Evidence-Based Medicine A database (BOLD℠) designed to provide a mechanism for ongoing data capture and support best practices development for the treatment of morbid obesity and its associated conditions.
