Questions: What happens to my excess skin?

You may notice excess skin after significant weight loss from bariatric surgery. The amount of excess skin depends on the total weight loss, age, if the person smokes and how much the skin was stretched. There are several surgical procedures available for removing excess skin. Some of the most common procedures are:

  • Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)
  • Mastopexy (breast lift)
  • Inner thigh lifts
  • Brachioplasty (arm lift)
  • High lateral tension abdominoplasties
  • Lower body lifts
