Exercise program for bariatric weight loss patients

Lifestyle Exercise

The cornerstone of every sustainable weight loss program is exercise. After your bariatric surgery is complete, it is vital that you recognize the importance of physical activity and take part in a physical fitness program to ensure that you lose the weight and keep it off.

As part of our bariatric program at the Obesity Medicine and Surgery Institute at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, you will receive an individualized exercise plan to help you reach your weight loss goals.

Directing your efforts is Bill Kelley, our Exercise Physiologist. Bill earned his B.A. in Exercise Physiology from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He is also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Test Technologist and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Bill brings more than 20 years of experience to our bariatric program. He was the program director for Xerox International Headquarters’ health promotion program for 15 years. In 2000, he founded Exercise Right, an individualized exercise program that explains how your body adapts and responds to exercise. Two years later he opened the Exercise Right Clinic in Winter Park and later merged the Exercise Right Program with Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

In addition to developing customized exercise programs for patients, Bill provides individual metabolic profiles and physical activity education for bariatric patients before and after their surgery.

To help our bariatric patients stay on track, Florida Hospital Celebration Health has a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art exercise facility to help you maximize the effectiveness of your workouts and help you lose the weight and keep it off. The Fitness Centre features the largest aerobics floor in Central Florida as well as a day spa that offers massage therapy, herbal wraps, facials, sauna and steam, so you not only look your best, but feel your best too.
